sexuality, and ethnic\/race relations for\u00a0teaching professionals.<\/p><p>This resource, originally developed in Brazil, was the result of a\u00a0partnership between the Brazilian Government\u2019s Special Secretariat for Policies on\u00a0Women, the Special Secretariat for the Promotion of Policies on Racial Equality (SEPPIR\/PR), the Brazilian Ministry of Education, the British Council and the Latin American Centre\u00a0on Sexuality and Human Rights.<\/p><p><em>Diversity in School <\/em>was successfully piloted in six cities in Brazil in 2006, involving\u00a01,200 teachers.<\/p><p>Since 2008, its contents have revised and expanded so as to make\u00a0the programme available in a distance learning format throughout the country and more\u00a0widely.<\/p><p>Reducing discrimination by improving understanding of gender, sexual, ethnic and racial\u00a0diversity is of central importance to the creation of a positive school learning environment.\u00a0As a result of our successful experience in Brazil, we feel that this translated resource has\u00a0potential value to teachers and teacher trainers\/educators across many parts of the English speaking\u00a0world.<\/p><p>The course contents are offered here as an open-access resource designed for\u00a0educators, teacher trainers and all those interested in addressing issues of <em>Diversity
