The working paper series Sexualidades<\/A><\/U>,<\/I> hosted by the International Resource Network (IRN)<\/A><\/U>, is seeking original work on gender and sexuality for our on-line publication. The IRN is a project based at the Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies of the Graduate Center at City University of New York, funded by the Ford Foundation. This peer-reviewed series promotes the work of emerging and established scholars writing in English, Spanish, or Portuguese throughout the Latin American and Caribbean regions by publishing, disseminating, and discussing new research on sexuality and gender. This series operates on a faster track than the usual timeline for publication of articles in books or journals.

We welcome previously unpublished papers in English, Spanish, or Portuguese from an array of disciplines and interdisciplinary perspectives. We will consider submissions on a broad range of topics, including: the social construction and lived experience of Latin American and Caribbean sexualities; transgender and lesbian identities, communities, and political and cultural production; the effects on gender and sexuality of global capital, transnational cultural flows, and migrations; the intersection of sexualities with the fields of politics, religion, law, and popular culture; social movement activism by sexual minorities; queer readings of literary or other artistic texts.

The International Resource Network disseminates the working papers primarily through our international website (IRNweb.org). Papers are translated to become available in three languages (Spanish, Portuguese, and English) and featured prominently on the IRN web site, accessible to scholars and activists around the world, and downloadable free of charge. Articles submitted should be of a quality found in respected journals in the authors’ respective fields. Each submission will be reviewed anonymously by two scholars with expertise relevant to the article’s content. Authors will receive reviewers’ comments, which will assist in their revisions and will be used by the series’ international editorial board to determine whether the submission merits publication. The series editorial board reserves the right to decide on the publication of revised articles.

Address inquiries and submissions to sexualidades@hotmail.com in Word Perfect or Microsoft Word fromat. Papers should be up to 10,000 words in length, accompanied by an abstract (100 words) and a short biography of the author (100 words). Tables and Figures should appear in the text exactly as the author would have them appear in the final publication. Bibliographic references should be made according to the author\/date system and listed alphabetically in ‘references cited’ section, according to the Chicago Manual of Style<\/A><\/U>.

The deadline for submissions is January 15, 2012<\/B>.
