MARTINHO BRAGA<\/span><\/h4>

Associate Professor at the Institute of Social Medicine of the State University of Rio de Janeiro \u2013 IMS-UERJ, in the Department of Health Policies and Institutions. He completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Bras\u00edlia (1999), a specialization in Mental Health through a residency program at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (2002), a master’s degree in Public Health at IMS-UERJ (2004), and a PhD in Anthropology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2011). He is an associate editor of the journal Physis<\/em> and represents the Forum of Humanities, Social Sciences, Applied Social Sciences, Languages, Linguistics, and Arts in the Human and Social Sciences Division of the National Research Ethics Commission \u2013 CONEP. He is the deputy coordinator of the Drugs and Society working group of the National Association of Research and Graduate Studies in Psychology \u2013 ANPEPP, and a member of the Violence and Health thematic group of the Brazilian Association of Collective Health \u2013 ABRASCO, where he coordinated the Commission on Social and Human Sciences in Health (2017\u20132019). He was part of the managing board of the Committee on Anthropology and Health of the Brazilian Association of Anthropology \u2013 ABA (2021\u20132022). Actively engaged in the anti-asylum, anti-prohibitionist, and abolitionist movements, he conducts research primarily on mental health, drugs, prison health, responsibility, and human rights, particularly ethnographies in institutional settings.<\/p>
