AMARAL AR\u00c9VALO<\/h4>

Within the Graduate Program in Sociology and Law (PPGSD\/UFF), he is conducting a postdoctoral research project on de-democratization, sexual citizenship, and the human rights of LGBTI+ people in El Salvador and Brazil, under the supervision of Eder van Pelt, funded by FAPERJ. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Fernandes Figueira Institute (IFF\/FIOCRUZ), under the supervision of Suely Deslandes, on homicides and violence against LGBTI+ people in El Salvador. He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute of Social Medicine of the State University of Rio de Janeiro (2019), supervised by S\u00e9rgio Carrara, with a study on the organization of the sexual and gender diversity movement in El Salvador.<\/p>

He holds an international PhD in Peace, Conflict and Development Studies \u2013 Universitat Jaume I, Spain (2013), recognized in Brazil by the University of Bras\u00edlia in the field of Education (2015). He has experience in the field of education, with an emphasis on managing community development projects with youth, men, LGBT populations, displaced populations; improving educational quality in rural schools, community-based early education, adult literacy, vocational training, university teaching, and promoting a culture of peace through audiovisual media with youth.<\/p>

His research lines are LGBT Studies, Violence, and Culture for Peace. He is a collaborating researcher at the Latin American Center on Sexuality and Human Rights (CLAM\/IMS\/UERJ). He is also an associate researcher at the Institute of Historical, Anthropological and Archaeological Studies at the University of El Salvador. He is a member of the Gender, Sexuality and Health Research Group (GENSEX\/IFF\/FIOCRUZ). He is also a member of the Working Group (2016\u20132026) El istmo centroamericano: perspectivas epistemol\u00f3gicas perif\u00e9ricas<\/em> of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO).<\/p>

In 2022, the book Dialogando con el Silencio: disidencias sexuales y de g\u00e9nero en la historia salvadore\u00f1a<\/em> was published, recovering 255 years of the history of sexual and gender dissidence in El Salvador, from 1765 to 2020.<\/p>
