De los siete niños que fueron infectados con el VIH en el 2004, en el Instituto Materno Perinatal (Maternidad de Lima) han fallecido cuatro. Sus muertes hasta el momento han sido en vano, porque el Estado, responsable directo de los contagios, nada ha hecho desde entonces. No se ha dado ninguna reparación económica a los familiares.
