She received her Master\u2019s degree (2010) and PhD (2015) in Public Health from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (IMS\/UERJ). She conducts research in the area of gender, sexuality, medicalization and social studies of science. She holds a postdoctoral degree at Casa de Oswaldo Cruz (COC \/ Fiocruz) in the research on medicalization of births, coordinated by Luiz Antonio Teixeira. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow at IMS \/ UERJ under the supervision of Jane Russo.
