Overview on sexual and reproductive rights and public policies in Colombia

This book provides an overview of the current state of sexual and reproductive rights in Colombia in the light of legal norms and public policies that regulate sexuality and reproduction of the Colombian population. It takes as a chronological framework the validity of the current Political Constitution of this country (1991), which generated a significant normative change in what concerns the understanding of the ciudadanía, the rights and the ways of acting and influencing the management and conformation of it public in Colombia. Based on the review of sentences by the Constitutional Court, sentences by the Supreme Court of Justice and sentences by the Council of State; laws, codes and decrees; and policies on sexual and reproductive health and sexual and reproductive rights, the authors address the regulation of reproduction and sex life, involuntary interruption of embarrassment, gender violence, HIV/AIDS, and sexual orientation and gender identity.
