Portraits of LGBT Policy in the State of Rio de Janeiro
Portraits of LGBT Policy in the State of Rio de Janeiro, by Sérgio Carrara, Silvia Aguião, Paulo Víctor Leite Lopes and Martinho Tota, is the result of joint work by the Integrated Laboratory in Sexual and Gender Diversity, Policies and Rights (LIDIS) and the Center Latin American Studies in Sexuality and Human Rights (CLAM), both from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). Supported by the results of a series of articulated investigations, the research team develops a comprehensive analysis of the patterns of violence and discrimination that affect the LGBT population in the state, in addition to monitoring the implementation of the Rio sem Homofobia Program, an innovative device that, within the scope of state public policies, seeks to protect this population and promote their citizenship.
