VIII Seminar of Research Centers on Gender, Sexuality, and Feminisms

The VIII Seminário Anual da RedeGen, Rede Fluminense de Núcleos de Pesquisa de Gênero, Sexualidade e Feminismos nas Ciências Sociais will take place on November 13 and 14, 2025 (Thursday and Friday), at the Fluminense Federal University (UFF), on the Valonguinho Campus InEAC/Old Physics Building – 2nd floor. Rua Mario Santos Braga, 30 – Outeiro São João Batista, Niterói.”

Formed in 2018, the Network of Research Centers on Feminism and Gender (RedeGen) brings together important research groups dedicated to studies on gender and sexuality. The network includes the Latin American Center for Sexuality and Human Rights (CLAM/IMS/UERJ), the Center for Studies on Contemporary Inequalities and Gender Relations (NUDERG/PPCIS/UERJ), the Center for Studies on Sexuality and Gender (NESEG/PPGSA/UFRJ), the Center for Studies on Bodies, Genders, and Sexualities (NUSEX/PGGA/MN), the Interdisciplinary Center for Women, Movements, Institutions, and Normativities (NIMMIN/IESP/UERJ), the Study Group on Contemporary Family (GREFAC/UERJ-UFRJ), LABUTA (UFRRJ) and the Laboratory for Studies on Difference, Inequality and Stratification (LeDde/IFCS/UFRJ).

With annual meetings, RedeGen has consolidated itself as a space for academic exchange and the dissemination of research focused on feminist and gender themes. The events bring together postgraduate students and invited researchers — national and international — to debate contemporary issues.

This year’s edition highlights discussions on gender, motherhood, care, work, plural feminisms, generations, racism, violence, among other topics that reflect the diversity and complexity of gender studies today.
