PhD in Social Anthropology (2021) from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), with a doctoral exchange program in Portugal at the Department of Anthropology of the University Institute of Lisbon-ISCTE. Holds a Master’s degree in Public Health (2000) from the Institute of Social Medicine at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (IMS/UERJ), with a concentration in Human Sciences and Health. Earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (1996) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).

Has experience as a professor and researcher in Brazil and Colombia, working in the fields of anthropology, gender studies, and public health. Since 2015, has been a research fellow at the Laboratory of Education in Environment and Health (LEAS) at the Oswaldo Cruz Institute (IOC), FIOCRUZ. At the Latin American Center on Sexuality and Human Rights (CLAM) of IMS/UERJ, has collaborated on regional projects and, between 2015 and 2016, worked as a professor in the Specialization Course in Gender and Sexuality.

Served as a substitute professor at the Institute for Collective Health Studies (IESC) at UFRJ between 2013 and 2014. Was a faculty member at the National University of Colombia (UNAL), affiliated with the Department of Anthropology and the School of Gender Studies, teaching undergraduate and graduate programs. Also in Bogotá, worked as a professor at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences at Universidad del Rosario in 2003 and 2019, and at the Ibero-American University Corporation between 2002 and 2004.

Research interests include sexuality, gender, life course, aging management, HIV prevention, biomedicalization, and the relationships between science, nature, and culture.
