In partnership with the homosexual activist group “Arco-Íris” and the “Center for Studies on Security and Citizenship” (Cesec) at Universidade Cândido Mendes, the research was conducted during the 2003 Pride Parade, on June 28, in Rio de Janeiro. In addition to focusing on issues of victimization, violence, sexuality, and prevention, it aimed to outline the political profile of the participants in the event, interviewing people of both homosexual and heterosexual orientations. Thirty-nine students from UERJ, UFF, UCAM, PUC-RJ, and Universidade Santa Luzia in Baixada Fluminense administered 468 questionnaires. The results of the research led to a publication that CLAM makes available for download on its website and distributes to organizations and institutions working from a human rights perspective.
