Carried out in partnership with activist groups and academic institutions, the research aims to gather data on the victimization and discrimination of homosexuals in Brazil. It also focuses on aspects related to the sociability and sexuality of gays, lesbians, and transgender people, in addition to outlining the social and political profile of participants in LGBT Pride Parades.

In 2003 and 2004, the study was conducted in collaboration with the Center for Studies on Security and Citizenship (Cesec) at Universidade Cândido Mendes and the Arco-Íris Homosexual Awareness Group (GAI) during the Rio de Janeiro LGBT Pride Parade.

In 2004, in partnership with the Research Center on the Anthropology of the Body and Health at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (NUPACS), the Group for the Free Sexual Expression (Nuances), and Cesec, the research was also conducted at the Porto Alegre Free Parade.

In 2005, the research was carried out at the 10th São Paulo LGBT Pride Parade, in a partnership between CLAM and Cesec with the São Paulo LGBT Pride Parade Association, the Gender Studies Center – Pagu (Unicamp), and the Department of Anthropology at USP.
