Knowledge, cultures and sexual rights in Colombia brings to a wider public the debate that researchers, political activists, responsible and executors of public policies in matters of sexuality and sexual and reproductive rights have been developing in Colombia. It identifies hallazgos and lagoons around these themes to build a common reference on sexuality as a sociocultural and historical construction and object of public regulation. The volume, which partially collects the memoirs of the Seminar “Make an agenda on sexuality and human rights in Colombia”, held in Bogotá in 2004, inscribes sexuality in the scope of the construction of citizenship and the claim for human rights. In this way, an attempt is made to favor the multiplicity of approaches and views with regard to academic developments, the formulation and application of social policies and militancy around sexuality as a fundamental dimension of social life.
