II Rede Anthera Colloquium

The International Research Network on Family and Kinship (Rede Anthera) is pleased to invite researchers, professionals, and students to the II Rede Anthera Colloquium: Parenthoods, Rights, and Public Policies, an event that will take place from June 23 to 25, 2025, exclusively in person, Auditorium 11, 1st FLOOR, BLOCK F, at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), Rua São Francisco Xavier, 524, Maracanã.

This second edition of the colloquium aims to discuss and disseminate the results of research conducted in recent years, related to parenthoods and child protection policies. Researchers from different regions of the country and internationally are invited to reflect and debate on the issue of parenthoods, which has become a prominent topic in academic and associative agendas in recent years in Brazil and abroad.

In this sense, the event seeks to promote the dissemination of work by young researchers and students in master’s, doctoral, and undergraduate research programs, as well as to bring together researchers and agents from the associative, judicial, and public health fields, and from social movements involved in the implementation and management of public policies and practices focused on contemporary parenthoods and child protection from an intersectional perspective.

It also aims to strengthen and consolidate our International Research Network on Family and Kinship (Rede Anthera), allowing for the research being developed to be debated and disseminated, in order to generate outcomes for practices and public policies in this field. It is also important to highlight the interdisciplinary nature of the event, which enables a discussion of parenthood-related issues from different viewpoints and approaches (Anthropology, Social Work, Psychology, Law, Health).
