This book is the result of discussions promoted by the seminar Bodies, Sexualities and Femininities, held on September 26, 27 and 28, 2012, at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). With the aim of putting into perspective the pluralities that affect multiple and distinct femininities and their most diverse and plural bodies, this seminar was structured along the following axes: “Sexual rights, health and ethnic-racial relations: feminist perspectives”; “Trans females: the female bodies that are constructed”; “Prostitution: bodies as a commodity or sexuality as an economic activity?”; “Female bodies on the threshold of legal regulations”; “Maternities: feminine, rights, deconstructions”. It is these discussions that are recorded here, in a mix of life histories, academic reflections and political-social movements. It is about diverse bodies and heterogeneous sexualities ethically, aesthetically and politically constructed and experienced in the feminine.
