Paula Lacerda holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), Master from the Institute of Social Medicine (IMS/UERJ), and PhD from the Postgraduate Program in Social Anthropology of the National Museum of the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro ( PPGAS/MN/UFRJ). She has experience in postdoctoral internships within the Graduate Program in Social Anthropology at the National Museum of the State University of Rio de Janeiro (PPGAS/MN/UFRJ) and at the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities at the National University of Córdoba, Argentina. She is currently an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Anthropology at the State University of Rio de Janeiro and a permanent member of the Graduate Program in Social Sciences (PPCIS / UERJ). She has experience in the areas of gender, human rights, social mobilization and contemporary political dynamics, especially in the Brazilian Amazon. She is a member of the Brazilian Anthropology Association and is part of the Working Group “Anthropology of the State and Institutions?” of the Asociación Latinoamericana de Antropología. She is also coordinator of the Center for Studies on Contemporary Amazonia (NUAMA/UERJ), a member of the Integrated Laboratory in Sexual Diversity and Gender, Policies and Rights (LIDIS/UERJ) at the Center for Urban Studies (CIDADES/UERJ) and in the Research Laboratory in Ethnicity, Culture and Development (LACED/MN/UFRJ).
